This classic meatloaf is a classic comfort dish that features a savory blend of ground beef, breadcrumbs, and spices topped with a tangy glaze. Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. In a separate small bowl, mix together the ketchup and brown sugar, then spread it evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
